Melva V Hill, aged 80, of Ambler died on October 13, 2009 at Abington Memorial Hospital.  Born on April 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J & Ruth V (Gounder) Rushton.    

She graduated from Frankford High School in 1947.  She went on to become a telephone operator at Sperry Univac/Unisys for 25 years.  Melva also worked for Smith-Kline in the lab department for 18 years. 

Melva was a member of the Red Hatters, Ambler Pinochle Card Club, enjoyed time with her family and spent many happy years in the Chesapeake Bay Area.   

She is survived by her husband of 58 years H. Richard "Dick" Hill, Sr and three children H. Richard "Rick" Jr  (Jane Louise) of Roslyn,  James D Hill (Maria R Angelucci) of Gilbertsville and Janet D Cervi (Christopher Robert) of Hatfield.  Also surviving is one brother; Alfred J Rushton, Jr, of Bensalem, 8 grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth A Finger.  

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 17^th,  11am at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler PA 19002.  Friends may call after 9:30 AM.   Internment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
