Louis V Barner

Louis V Barner, of Spring House Estates, died May 28, 2010.  He was 95. He was the beloved husband of Julia Sands (nee Staneruck) Barner. 

Born in New York, NY on April 16, 1915 the son of the late Julius L Barner and Amelia (Lapp). 

Louis attended PS 116 (Evander Childs) High School and went on to attend Bluffton College for 2 ˝ years.  He was employed as a Railway Postal Clerk for the US Postal Service for 31 years and more recently recognized by the Smithsonian Institute.  He also worked for US Gauge Co. for 5 years.  He retired on May 12, 1972.   

He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the carrier, WASP.   

He is survived by daughter, Kay (Barner) Lewis (Bob) of Honey Brook, PA and is Pre-deceased by daughter, Louise (Barner) Brock, 5 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his wife’s family. William H Sands (Gladys) Pennsburg, PA, pre-deceased by Dale W Sands, Spring City, PA, and Evelyn Guidotti  (Tony), Ambler, PA.  Also 6 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samaritan Fund at Springhouse Estates, C/O Tracy Shelton, 728 Norristown Road, Lower Gwynedd, PA  19002.  

Services will be held at the Spring House Estates Auditorium on Saturday, June, 5th at 11:00 a.m.
