Clarke Robert Horn

Clarke Robert Horn, 85, of North Wales, and formerly of Willow Grove, PA passed away Thursday, July 4th, 2024. Clarke was born in Philadelphia in 1938, the son of the late Raymond and Mary Horn (Kennedy). He was the husband of Carol Horn (Milligan) and they were married for 63 years. 

Clarke was a graduate of Cheltenham High School and married his high school sweetheart Carol. He played sports and they were a big part of his life. He was a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams but loved the Phillies most. He preferred listening to games on the radio. He attended The Hussian School of Art after high school and enjoyed painting. As a skilled auto mechanic, he was a successful business owner and owned service stations in Mt. Airy and Willow Grove. He enjoyed reading and watching documentaries on military history and would visit any type of historic site or battlefield if it was near. 

He was an avid do-it-your-selfer and loved spending hours in his yard working on landscape projects. He dedicated many years to UDJAA (Upper Dublin Junior Athletic Association) where he served on the board and was the commissioner for the youth football program. He was an active member of the Reformed Church of Willow Grove where he served in many capacities. 

Throughout his life, Clarke dedicated himself to his family, raising three children, ensuring they wanted for nothing, raising them with christian values, and setting an example with an incredible work ethic. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved being a part of their lives. He especially enjoyed attending their various sporting events and other activities. He had the uncanny skill of creating a nickname for everyone in the family and his close friends. If he was close to you, he rarely called you by your real name and when he did call you by your nickname, it was considered a term of endearment. 

Clarke is survived by 3 children: Timothy (Teresa), Christine Bantham (Christopher), and Douglas (Julie). Clarke is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Rodriguez (Christopher), Katy Madiou (David), Abby Bantham, Erik Horn, Kelly Horn, Sarah Horn, Justin Horn, Allison Horn and two great grandchildren Claire Rodriguez and Jackson Madiou. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary, and his sister and brother-in-law Bette Jane and Sam Manoogian.

A private burial will be held.
