Craig Carpenter

January 19, 1937 — September 17, 2023

Craig W. Carpenter, a lifelong resident of Ambler, PA passed away on September 17, 2023, at Spring House Estates retirement community. He was 86 years old. Craig was the son of Nora and Lester Carpenter. Lester Carpenter was the Chief of Police for Ambler for nearly 40 years.

Craig grew up and lived most of his life on Glen Mawr Drive in Ambler. He was a graduate of Ambler High School and served in the United States Army.

Craig worked for Montgomery County Publishing Company for two decades, and then later worked for Montgomery County Community College for over 20 years.

Craig enjoyed cars and worked for many years at the Sunoco Gas Station in downtown Ambler during his teen years. He later became interested in horses and owned several Arabian Horses. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed listening to sports talk radio and Harry Gross who hosted a show for financial planning.

Craig is survived by his sister, Joyce Collom of Lancaster PA, and his Nephew Drew Collom, of Bentonville, AR, Drew’s wife Nancy Collom, and children Bryan Collom and Kimberly Collom, and Niece Jamie DeBartolomeis, of Denver, CO, and her husband Vincent, and daughters Macy LaPorta and Sarah DeBartolomeis.

The family will hold a service at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church in Ambler on Friday, September 22, 2023.
