Daniel S. Schoenleber

Mar 12, 1967 — Nov 1, 2026

Daniel Salvatore "Dan" Schoenleber, 59, of Ambler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 1, 2026, surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Joan Veronica Traynor and William Schoenleber, Dan moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a young child and later settled in Ambler where he and his loving wife of thirty years, Carrol, raised their family.

Dan is survived by Carrol (nee Pepe); their children, Jessica, Michael, and Daniel; and his adored grandsons, Bryce and Bentley, who knew him as "Pop." He is also survived by his nephew, Joseph Pepe, who grew up surrounded by the love and care of Dan and Carrol, whom Dan loved like a son, and by many nieces and nephews who felt Dan's warmth throughout the years.

Dan's life centered on family, faith, and community. He loved his country and took great pride in being an American. He volunteered as a catechist, helping the children of his parish explore their own faith, and he gave his time generously in Ambler, coaching youth baseball and basketball over two decades while mentoring the young athletes he worked with. Whatever the sport or season, Dan was a mainstay on the sidelines, cheering on his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and following every game with pride.

Beyond the field, Dan found joy in life's simple pleasures. A Paris-trained chef, Dan loved cooking almost as much as he loved Elvis, 80s music, and his Philly sports teams, and for more than thirty years ran kitchens across a number of highly regarded institutions. Most recently, Dan worked with the maintenance department at the Wissahickon School District, where he especially valued the relationships he developed with teachers and students. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends, whether gathered around the table, celebrating a holiday, or playing games with his children well into their adult years.

Dan met his battle with cancer with remarkable strength, and through it all he kept a positive outlook. The way he carried himself set an example for everyone who loved him. He will be deeply missed, and his love for family, dedication to others, and the family traditions he held dear will live on in all who knew him.
