John Howard Vogel, Sr.

John “Jack” Howard Vogel Sr., 82, passed away in Fort Washington, PA on August 30, 2025.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Carl and Dorothy (née Ivy) Vogel.

Following his graduation from Olney High School in 1961, Jack enlisted with the United States Air Force and served honorably for four years as an airborne radar technician. He then went on to work for over 45 years for Narco Avionics Inc. in the customer service and Service Departments, holding many positions from Technician to Assistant manager of the service department.

Jack was a dedicated volunteer with the Boy Scouts serving in many roles for more than 50 years. He completed their highest level of leader training, the “Wood Badge” for both the cub and scout levels. Jack held many positions throughout the years from cubmaster, district vice-chairman, and eagle program coach.

He is survived by his son, Scott Vogel; grandson, Michael Anthony Morris, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Ann Vogel and his son, John H. Vogel, Jr.

A memorial service honoring Jack’s life will be held in the near future.
