Joseph R. Walton, Sr.

Joseph R. Walton, Sr., 90, of Warminster, PA passed away surrounded by family on April 22, 2026.

Joe was born on September 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Louis and Margaret (née Fisher). He spent his childhood in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia before moving to Horsham, Pa as a teenager.

Joe graduated cum laude with a BS in accounting from La Salle College (now University). He achieved this accomplishment in 4 years of night school while also working two jobs and starting a family.

He worked in the financial industry including as President of Abraham Lincoln FSB and had a successful career as a financial planner. He served as an officer and member in a variety of volunteer organizations including as a trustee of Manor College, President and Man of the Year for the Society of Savings & Loan Mortgage Officers and member of the Cemetery Committee of the Philadelphia Archdiocese.

Joe was respected and loved by his peers and family alike. A man of many interests Joe possessed a powerful intellect as well as an artistic nature. One of his many great accomplishments was digitizing family photos and movies so that every member of the family had a digital record complete with artistic background and theme music. A highlight of his 60th high school reunion was the presentation he created for the event on DVD featuring a photographic history of that time. His classmates were thrilled.

Joe loved technology and was a trailblazer in implementing computers in his business environment back in the 70’s and 80’s. His interest continued into his senior adult life where he was a valuable asset to his friends and neighbors when they needed
technological help.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joan M. (née Ross) Walton; Children Kathleen (nee Walton) Sandoski, Joseph R. Walton, Jr and Jonathan Walton and his wife Cherisse (nee Juliano); Grandchildren Joseph R Walton, III, Elizabeth (nee Walton) Lee and her husband Brian Lee, Sarah Sandoski and her husband Will D’Arrigo, Amanda Sandoski and her partner Justin Baldwin, Olivia Walton and Emily Walton; Great grandchildren Brandon Lee, Andrew Lee and Kaden Lee.

A memorial mass will be held on May 23, 2026 at 10:30am at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 605 W Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. All who wish to attend are welcome. There will be no formal visitation with the family.

In lieu of flowers the family prefer donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
