Kathleen Duffy

Kathleen (Babs) Duffy passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026 after an extended illness.

She was born on May 21, 1942 in Philadelphia. Babs was a graduate of Ancillae Assumpta Academy. She was a supervisor at Glaxo Smith Kline pharmaceutical in Philadelphia for many years.

She visited Greece many times with her longtime friend and partner Andreas. Spent many weekends in the Chesapeake Bay with Andreas on his boat. Babs was a lover of animals especially her cat “Mario” who played fetch into ripe old cat age of 22.

She was articulate, insightful and intelligent. Her friends called her “Kathy”. As a small child, she could not pronounce Kathleen, so she proclaimed she was “Babadee”. Her five older siblings and entire family then forever knew her as Babs.

Babs was the youngest of six children: Mary Jo, Michael, Nancy, Jimmy, Eleanor. All have predeceased her.

Babs is survived by many nieces and nephews including, Nancy Kelly Baker (Dave), John Kelly (Cindy), Mary Jo Giagnacova, Jim Fleming (Beth), Kathy Fleming Sable (Joe), John Fleming (Karen), MaryAnne Fleming Potok (Andrew), Peter Fleming (Liz), Michael Duffy, Trish Duffy, Edward Duffy, and Amy Duffy Favret (Jim). She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

And survived by her longtime and very dear friend from childhood, Sue Kelly.

Family Visitation at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home, 145 Tennis Avenue, Ambler, PA on Tuesday September 22, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the memorial service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave, Phila, PA
