Patricia Anne Piano

Patricia Anne Piano passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. She was 81 years old, born on September 21, 1944, to the late Joseph and Catherine Grape.

Patti was born in Minnesota, but her family soon moved to Philadelphia, where she spent her youth, first in the Bridesburg section and then in Frankford. Because both of her parents worked jobs with irregular hours, she was pressed into caring for herself and her family at an early age.This experience instilled in her a strong sense of independence and a high-energy, results-driven personality.

Her thirst for learning carried her through college and, ultimately, to a Master's degree fromTemple University. No doubt this same thirst for learning influenced the growth of her sons and grandchildren.

Patricia spent her working life as an elementary school reading specialist in the Hatboro-Horsham School District. In that role, she also served at-risk children at Saint Catherine's and other schools in Montgomery County. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, swimming, rollerblading, playing tennis, cooking, raising her children, and laughing with friends. She stayed active and never missed a chance to dance at weddings and other social events.

Her high energy and creative mind led her to explore new ways to enhance her teaching techniques. Before long, she was using computers and reading apps in the classroom. One thing led to another, and she eventually oversaw the computer labs in all five elementary schools in the district.

She touched many young lives through the classroom, as well as through in-service training sessions and her work as an adjunct professor at Arcadia University.She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Albert; her two sons, Bret and Todd, and their wives, Sarah and Jerrilyn; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Jonathan, Andrew, Gavin, and Mason.

Please join us to celebrate her life and share your fond memories on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home (Ambler, PA), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., we will hold a Quaker-style Friends Meeting, open to all attendees.

Following the meeting, you are welcome to join us at Angelo's Italian Kitchen, at Limekiln Pike and Horsham Road.
