Robert DeGroot

Lee DeGroot, of Springhouse Estates, died on January 9, 2016 at the age of 93. He was born in Shippensburg, PA on March 13, 1922 and was husband to Patricia DeGroot (Nee Sourbier). Lee attended Franklin & Marshall college and Columbia University, NY and was an Illustrator and Artist. His works were featured in publications including; Jack & Jill, Highlights Magazine, Child's Life, Saturday Evening Post and New Yorker Magazine. He served in the US Navy, was a member of St Joseph Church, Ambler, North Penn Arts Alliance and the Oreland Art Center. He is survived by his children Jeffrey, Jan and Barbara Ann DeGroot, and his grandchildren Christopher, Jessica and Danielle DeGroot. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 1PM to be held at The Springhouse Estates Auditorium, 728 Norristown Rd, Lower Gwynedd PA 19002. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1pm. Interment will be at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
