David G Adams Jr.

September 3, 1991 — November 23, 2020

David Adams of Horsham passed away on Monday, November 23rd at the age of 29. He was born in Abington on September 3rd, 1991, the son of Tammy Adams. Always one to do things his own way, and no great fan of authority or a classroom, David earned a GED two months before his graduating class. In 2004, he was honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame when he was listed in the Honor Roll edition of Little League Baseball. He knew his way around a skatepark, too, but his ultimate passion was fishing; from the time he could open his eyes, he had them trained on rods and reels. His favorite spot was the Wing Dam at the Delaware River Fishing gap. As a kid, he preferred Animal Planet to Cartoon Network and nothing came between Dave and his Davy Crockett hat. In later years, while living in Florida, fishing trips became a bond he shared with his best friend, DJ McGettigan. David never missed a family trip to Sea Isle City, no matter where in the world he was. Talking to David when the Eagles were playing was strictly forbidden. He actually kicked a girlfriend out of his house once because she wouldn't stop talking during the game.

As a lead install technician in the HVAC field, he was known to his coworkers as being meticulous, crafty and lightning fast. His boss says that David was always the one to be dispatched to unusual or tricky jobs, because he was smart and innovative in devising fixes that no one else on the crew could conjure.

There was nothing David loved more than being a father to his two children, David Gregory Adams III — DJ for short, after David’s best friend, Mr. McGettigan — and Maverick James, whose name came from David's favorite movie, Top Gun. David was a hands-on Dad who loved to draw and solve puzzles with DJ, and to take him on his first hiking and fishing trips. David figured out the one surefire way to get DJ to do something was by bribing him with a trip to the almighty Dollar Store. The latest fatherly joy came recently while David was helping Maverick to stand on his own. David fought for and took great pride in raising his family until the very end.

David is survived by his parents, Tammy Adams and Steve Pepper; his little sister, Saylor Morgan Pepper; his biological father, David Adams Sr.; his grandparents, Linda and Edward Bunt, Donna Adams, Dorothee Pepper, and by many aunts and uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly. Also by his wife, Hada Solorzano, and her mother, Nelly Guerrero. David leaves behind two sons: David Gregory Adams III and Maverick James. He was preceded in death by Ronald Schaefer Junior (Pop), and Greggory Adams.
