Leonard "Skip" Coe Wemple III

September 18, 1930 — July 24, 2022

Leonard Coe Wemple III, a resident of Oreland for over 60 years, passed away on July 24th, 2022, at The Horsham Center for Jewish Life at the age of 91.

Born in Menominee, Michigan on September 18th, 1930 to the late Leonard Coe Wemple II and Rosabel (Murphy) Wemple. He attended Cheltenham High School and then went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954. While in the Coast Guard he was stationed in both California and New Jersey. Following his honorable service in the Coast Guard, Skip went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Temple University.

He worked in the beer business following his graduation from college for over 30 years, working for Guinness for a time and then for Origlio as a draft beer expert.

Skip enjoyed playing golf, tennis, racquetball, and basketball. He also loved dogs, especially Wheaties.

Skip and Vivienne were always so grateful for having such wonderful neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Vivienne Wemple. In addition, he is survived by his brother, William “Buzz” (Jill) Wemple; sister-in-law, Martha (Larry) Waldman; nieces Amanda (Stuart), Jody (Mike), and Stacey (Ben); as well as grandnieces and grandnephews, Seaton, Bryce, Sky, Jacob, and Eva.

Services will be private.
